Plantar Wart Treatment

A plantar wart (Verruca Pedis) can be a stubborn virus to get rid of because it becomes encased in a thick callous due to walking pressure which makes it more difficult to apply an irritant to such as Salicylic Acid or Silver Nitrate. They can also be quiet painful if they are sitting underneath a high pressure point under your foot.

Usual treatment involves debriding the callous and plantar wart to its base and then applying an irritant such as salicylic acid or silver nitrate. The irritant will reduce the wart as well as kick the body’s immune system into getting rid of the virus.
